DESCRIPTION:NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION \n  \nNorth West Fire District \nin the Towns of Van Buren and Lysander \nOnondaga County\, New York \n  \nNOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to a resolution of the Board of Fire Commissioners\, a special election of the qualified voters of the North West Fire District in Baldwinsville\, New York\, County of Onondaga will be held at North West Fire District Station 1\, located at 7911 Crego Rd\, Baldwinsville\, NY 13027 on the 7th day of April\, 2026\, between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 pm. to vote on whether to approve the following one resolutions adopted by such Board of Fire Commissioners: \n  \nRESOLUTION NO. 1 \n  \nRESOLUTION FOR FINANCING OF A TOWER LADDER \n  \nRESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS OF THE NORTH WEST FIRE DISTRICT\, IN THE TOWNS OF VAN BUREN AND LYSANDER\, ONONDAGA COUNTY\, NEW YORK (THE “DISTRICT”)\, AUTHORIZING THE FINANCING OF A TOWER LADDER AND RELATED EQUIPMENT\, THE MAXIMUM COST OF WHICH IS ANTICIPATED TO BE $2\,300\,000; APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT THEREFORE; AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCING BY ISSUANCE OF A SERIAL BOND OR STATUTORY INSTALLMENT BOND\, UP TO TWENTY (20) YEARS FOR THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF $2\,300\,000 PRINCIPAL\, AND TO UTILIZE VEHICLE CAPITAL RESERVE FUNDS UP TO $500\,000.  \n  \nAll persons registered to vote in the district and residing in the fire district for at least thirty (30) days prior to the day of the vote may vote in such special election. \n  \nPursuant to Local Finance Law Section 80\, the validity of such bonds or notes or any bond anticipation notes issued in anticipation of the sale of such bonds may be contested only if such obligations are authorized for an object or purpose for which the fire district is not authorized to expend money; or if the provisions of law which should be complied with as of this date are not substantially complied with\, and an action\, suit or proceeding contesting such validity\, is commenced within twenty days after the date of such publication; or such obligations are authorized in violation of the provisions of the constitution. \n
