NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TOWN OF VAN BUREN
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Municipal Home Rule Law there has been presented to the Town Board of the Town of Van Buren, New York, at a regular meeting thereof held on September 17, 2025, proposed Local Law No. D-2025, titled, “A Local Law Overriding the Tax Levy Limit Established in General Municipal Law § 3-C in the Town of Van Buren.” Said Local Law, if enacted, will override the limit on the amount of real property taxes that may be levied by the Town of Van Buren and allow the Town of Van Buren to adopt a Town budget for the fiscal year 2026 in excess of the “tax levy limit.” The full text of said Local Law is on file at the Town Clerk’s Office at the Town Offices located at 7575 Van Buren Road in the Town of Van Buren for inspection by all interested persons.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that on September 17, 2025, the Town Board determined that this proposed Local Law is an Unlisted Action in connection with SEQRA and determined that the Town Board will act as lead agency in this matter.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the Town Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed Local Law at the Town Hall located at 7575 Van Buren Road in the Town of Van Buren on October 1, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, at which time all persons interested will be heard.
